3 federal departments and industry association Fuel Cells Canada led a Canadian industry and scientific delegation to the internationally renowned Grove Fuel Symposium in London

Canada Pavilion Grove Fuel Cell Symposium, London England

Project goal: In 2004, a group of 3 federal departments and industry association Fuel Cells Canada led a Canadian industry and scientific delegation to the internationally renowned Grove Fuel Symposium in London, England.

This Canadian delegation required a tradeshow display that would both demonstrate Canadian leadership in this sector and provide individual federal departments and Canadian companies opportunities to promote their individual interests.

Creative approach/execution: Working in co-operation with tradeshow manufacturer The Portables we designed a modern trade show pavilion that featured an overarching Team Canada brand combined with Canada’s unique hydrogen and fuel brand under which Canadian departments and companies positioned their unique messages.

Meeting a graphic design challenge required by our government partners, we successfully integrated both Team Canada’s generic “innovation” brand with the blue-sky-and-clouds brand, which we had created in 2003 to convey Canada’s interests in hydrogen and fuel cells. The result was a visually captivating pavilion that clearly conveyed Canadian leadership.

The physical pavilion, which included a Ford fuel cell car as a centerpiece, featured a unique walk through design through which visitors meandered and learned about Canadian capabilities. Other supporting graphic materials included tabletop displays and an overhead banner. The Canadian pavilion was the runaway hit of the Grove Symposium.
