The VFCVP needed succinct, yet informative, print materials for VIPs.
FOLDER AND PROGRAM OVERVIEW SHEET

Project goal: When it launched in 2004, the Vancouver Fuel Cell Vehicle Program became the largest demonstration program of its kind in the world. The VFCVP needed succinct, yet informative, print materials for distrubution to VIPs and the public. The VFCVP also required a means of bundling print materials of its partner organizations such as the NRC, NRCan and the Hydrogen Highway project.
Creative approach/execution: We created both a one-page 8.5x11" overview sheet suitable for mass distribution (right) and a 9x12” brochure-folder (below), which combined both the information of a brochure and the functionality of a folder.
The overview sheet was printed on gloss stock made from recycled paper. Graphics seen on the back side of the sheet, which illustrated the inner workings of the fuel cell and Ford vehicle were supplied.
Printed on sturdy, semi-gloss folder stock the brochure-folder included 6 saddle-stitched pages. The folder’s final page featured a pocket into which partner materials could be held.

Offering an at-a-glace view of the VFCVP’s key messages and objectives, the center spread featured an image of a Mark IV Ford Focus fuel cell vehicle, similar to the model that would be tested by the VFCVP. Callouts pointing to the car’s physical features harkened to an auto sales brochure, but instead of describing the car’s attributes, these key points creatively pointed to VFCVP highlights.
